Beautiful skates.
I bought the J10-J13 size for my 5 year old daughter. She normally wears a size 11 shoe. These skates fit her perfectly and looked very comfortable. The lining is soft and it's nicely padded. They have a clasp closure, which makes getting them on and securing very easy for me. Adjusting the size was a snap, just push the button and the boot elongates.The online photo does not do these skates justice. They are much prettier in person. It's an excellent buy.

My daughter loves these skates!
My daughter wears a size 13T - 1 street shoe, and the smallest setting on these skates fits her just fine. They are heavily padded on the inside so she can slip them on without socks for use in the driveway with no discomfort. She has taken them to the skating rink and they also performed well there. They are chunkier than the rental quad skates from the rink (you know, the ones you used to rent as a child), but she skated for three hours with no problems. I think that these provide more ankle support than the rentals.

Great Beginner Skates
I bought these skates for our 5-1/2-year-old daughter for Christmas. I love the sturdy hard shell that supports the legs and the wheels that don't go too fast for her beginner status. My only concern is the toe stop seems to be wearing quickly, but that can easily be replaced. I did a lot of comparison shopping and this was the best deal out there and I am not disappointed. Overall I'd recommend this as a great beginner skate for any girl.

16 Month Old Girl Starting Early
When my son was 2 1/2. I bought him real nice kid skates and he was afraid for a certain period because those skates were actually too good... :-/ I eye-balled these skates before buying the real nice ones and thought they would just be junk and didn't want to be cheap. FOOLISHNESS!!!I now have a daughter who is 16 months old. Our whole family goes skating so I knew to buy these, this time! I was sold on the in-line version of Grow With Me 1,2,3 BUT I checked around and checked around and saw the reviews were consistently better for the quad style!?! I even went to a major toy dealer and had them check and they reported the same thing!?! The in-line Barbie version looked so much better and sturdier but folks were reporting problems getting foot in and out... Economical and durable pair of roller skates...
My daughter had been begging me for a pair of roller skates but at four years of age I was very hesitant to put her on wheels. I saw these and thought that I would try them since they had four wheels and three learn-to-skate stages. They are absolutely great in that they adjust from shoe size 6 to 12 and your child can easily strap them on over their tennis shoes with the velcro straps. The length adjusts easily on the bottom by pressing two small plastic knobs together to lenthen or shorten the skates. The most impressive and useful feature is the adjustable sliding knob on the sides of the skates that adjusts from numbers one to three. This allows your child to progress at their own pace. The first stage locks the wheels so your child can skate-walk and gain balance and confidence. My daughter progressed to the second stage after walking around on our pavement for about an hour. The second stage allows your child to roll forward only. This is where I had to step in at times...

Giddy over my new skates!
I recently bought skates and roller blades for my kids. As I was teaching them how to do it I remember how much I loved to skate as a kid. I'm 35 and "curvy" and didn't think my ankles could handle roller blades. Plus I love the retro look of these skates. They're exactly like the ones I had as a kid. The only difference is the color of the wheels. These ones are a pale, rosy pink - not the hot, orangy pink in one of the pictures. Also, some pictures show the heel as black, but mine came in the light brown.I wear a size 9 shoe and ordered an 8 based on the other reviews. I'm glad I did because the 8s are just about perfect, if not still a little big. The wheels don't spin as easily as I remember from 25 years ago which is a good thing for someone like me who wants to take things slow.The construction is quite sturdy. Great Learning Skates!
My daughter got these for her third birthday (my only gripe is that they, like anything else not pink, are categorized as "boys" toys) and she loves them. She was able to use them right out of the box and moved from setting 1 to setting 2 very quickly. She is looking forward to learning to skate like her big brother! She is small for her age and these fit her size 5/6 foot very well. I think she is going to get a lot of use from them in the next few years. An excellent purchase for any child, regardless of gender!

Love them
My 2 year old boy LOVES these skates. We have the front wheels locked and he just kind of walks around in them, but he thinks its great fun. It helps with his balance and soon we can unlock the wheels and let him go. My husband wants him to ice skate this winter (heaven help my nerves). I figured these would be a good way to introduce that activity to him. When he isn't wearing them he drives them around the house. He can even put them on himself. I think they are something that we will get long time use out of.

Fun and clever invention
These skates are fun and clever; kudos to whoever invented the mechanism that allows you to change settings between no wheels rolling (walking mode), forward only (toddler can push forward and not risk one foot rolling away behind them), or forward and backward rolling (normal skating).These are excellent skates for puttering around the apartment. Our son is not quite 4 yet, so he wears the skates over a pair of socks and shoes to get a snug fit. If they are being used on a hard surface like hardwood floor or parking lot, I'd recommend helmet, knee and elbow pads. Puttering around on the carpet is actually doable in these skates. You should let your child try to skate without holding onto you though, so their hands and arms are free to move around and help them keep balance- my son seemed more likely to fall while he was holding onto my arm than when he was just holding his arms out for balance. You will want to stay close to spot/catch your child if they slip an odd...

Rollerskating Fan
I personally wanted to purchase the roller derby city lites skates for my daughter during the Christmas Holiday's because they were different from the other skates. I enjoy the fact that they lite up and that they were a little different from what most kids would wear but they were sold out. I am kind of glad that they were because she was still excited to have these skates than the other skates because purple is her favorite color and she didn't have to worry about replacing the wheels once the light became defected. Overall, a excellent pairs of skates and good quality. I recommend to purchase one size up from your normal size. Wondeful!
